Cats are housed in Great Dane size cages while waiting for a barn to be assigned. Each cage is next to a window or close to a window so they can watch the birds and have entertainment. In the cage is a feeder and waterer, litter box, rug, and a small cat carrier with the door held open by a bungee cord. This “hidey box” allows the cat to feel secure and get away from us when we are cleaning. For cleaning and to move the cat to the barn location, we just reach in (carefully), close the carrier door, and then pick up the carrier. That carrier also is their hidey box in the cage at the barn site in the spring, summer, and fall.
